HOW TO CRITICIZE (THE ART OF CRITICISM)

Criticism is an art, which always involves certain acts too; this has been confused for condemnation. Though criticism and condemnation looks alike, they aren’t the same. Criticism is an act of pointing out the wrongs in a person, a thing or a situation while condemnation is an aspect of judgment that blames or punishes offenders for the wrongs they did.

However, most professional critiques, going by their dispositions, are professional condemners. There is nothing professional about criticism until “constructive” is added to it, this is an oxymoron to create a balance which means before someone decides to criticize a thing, he should have appreciated the good side twice as much.

Most critiques only concentrate on picking out the wrongs without saying anything about the good sides and this shows that they are illiterate in the art of criticism. Though it is human to complain when things go wrong and keep quiet when things are rightly done, such approach to life is synonymous with the fools.

It is evident why most critiques were never given the glory for changing others and making things better. Critiques are doing a great job, without them, we will have a lot of substandard outcomes, but they must understand they are most unlikely to improve outcomes by just pointing out faults.

NIGERIAN YOUTHS SPEAK AGAINST JUNGLE JUSTICE

Last week, the picture of a boy, said to be eight years old, who was mobbed and killed for stealing garri took the social media by storm.
While some people believe he was not eight years old as purported, some people believe the picture was only doctored. But be it true or not, it does not stop the fact that we have cases on jungle justice here and there all over Africa.

Just some years back, 4 innocent students were beaten to death in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, by a mob, who believed they were armed robbers. It is in this regard that Nigerian youths take SRAF, a WhatsApp group to express their thoughts about jungle justice.
The discussion which took place on the 20th November, 2016 was moderated by Soul’e Rhymez, a Poet and Public speaker from Nigeria.

According to Adeniyi Maryam, a student from Osun State, who opened the floor on the night, Jungle justice is nothing to write home about. People pass jungle justice in order to get justice for themselves, so they say, but I must say it’s wrong.”

Adenle Oluwaseun, a student from Ondo State talked about the one he witnessed, saying, “just a few months ago, a driver was beaten mercilessly by an angry mob only for them to realize later that he was not driver who had committed the crime they thought he committed.
Jungle Justice is an irrational response to situation beyond our control. People prefer to carry out jungle justice because they fail to think twice, questions of "what if" and "what if not" are not answered before action is taken and this has led to death or mutilations of some innocent souls.

Saying his mind on the topic, Oluwasegun Timothy Opeyemi, a student from Ilorin, kwara State stated thus: “from my own point of view, it is only an abnormal person that carries out Jungle Justice. A person with the right mental attitude can never be motivated to kill or join hands in the killing of his fellow human.
These people are sick, they have no conscience because if they have one, there should be some reluctance in hurting animals not to talk of human like them.”

According to Udekwe Johnmary a student, currently living in Enugu state, who used a biblical example to portray his view, “Jungle justice is absolutely condemnable. Christ in His days condemned such justice. There was a woman who was caught in adultery and brought to him; the question asked the woman’s condemners should also be channel to those that participate in Jungle Justice.”

Kenneth Omovevah, also known as the Student of Life, from Lagos State has this to say: “Jungle justice to me is justice rendered out of selfish thoughtlessness and absolute ignorance. My stand is this: if I steal or commit any punishable offence to you, beat me, get me arrested and probably seriously punished, but to kill me? That's just commuting a crime worse than mine.
What is there to gain from ruthless killing, sugarcoated as jungle justice?

Mac Henry Imafidon, from Lagos believes Jungle Justice is a very disgusting act and can’t be stopped, relating to his experiences, he said, “At a tender age, I encountered this act, first at Gowon Estate, Egbeda, Lagos, and second, at Aba, Abia State. I discovered at that age, that many are heartless, killing humans and burning them alive. And let me remind you, it can't be stop because it's not different from politicians, who kill with their sword. There is no difference between burning one to death and killing by sword. Killing is killing, but the fact still remains that it's barbaric.”

Iyanda Mukhtar  .O  from Osun State Nigeria made it clear that Jungle justice is an act perpetuated by jobless and uneducated people, in his own arguments he said, “From a religious perspective, killing is not good. So why do you have to take life's for something not worth it?
A lot of innocent people have been beaten and killed for crimes they did not commit.
Most of those involved in making the justice are also not clean. They are jobless and uneducated, but I believe the judiciary is to blame for not performing their duties well enough.

As for Ness, a student of Lautech, Oyo state, jungle justice is a slap on the face of the judiciary. He believes they have a lot to do to curb the act and also urged the citizen to trust in their interpretation of the laws.

When asked how such act could be curbed, Maryan Adeniyi believes it could be curbed if the police are well mobilized and equipped.
Oluwasegun believes it can only be curbed if thugs and area boys are taken off the streets.
Kenneth said it can only be curbed by paying attention to the small crimes that later turn big and that the authority should not take any situation for granted if they are to stop Jungle Justice.
Mac, who believed it can’t be curbed, says it will only take God to stop it because the judiciary has lost her neutrality.

Finally, Soul’e Rhymez ended the discussion by admonishing the members of the group never to be involved in Jungle Justice and to report it to the nearest authority whenever they see it happen.
He stressed further by saying no great mind or resourceful youth, as they address each other in the group, will involve in Jungle Justice. He also pleaded with them to desist from crimes that could make them a victim of Jungle Justice.

REDEFINITION OF EDUCATION: SOUL’E RHYMEZ CAUSED ANOTHER UPROAR

Ever since his essay “When Education Becomes Indoctrination”, has gone viral, enjoying publication on different websites, blogs and newspapers across the country including The Guardian Newspaper. Soul’e Rhymez has been resilient in his bid to redefine education.  In a bid to do that, the writer, who is known for his controversial style of writing haven’t stopped getting attention from people, both positive and negative.

The eccentric public speaker and poet raised another set eyebrows again on the 12th of November, 2016 at a seminar organized by Dream Achievers World (DAW), tagged “Sabificate beyond Certificate” where he was invited as one of the guest speakers.
The seminar which has the likes of Mr. Christian Nonso, Mr. James Ifeanyi, Miss. Juliet Obi and Mr. Emmanuel C.S Eze in attendance left a lot of questions in the minds of the audience, who battled to understand the difference between schooling and education.

Soul’e Rhymez started by affirming that education in the country is a brainwash, thus leaving the audience confused as to whether they should give up on schooling. He traced the current state of the country’s economic meltdown to wrong definition of education. According to him, if education was not wrongly defined, Nigeria wouldn’t be going through economic crises.
He said that the educational system seems to have been defined to produce only employees, who go out searching for unavailable jobs.

He backed up his assertion up by asking the students if anyone of them will want to go to the polytechnic after graduating from secondary school, but only one of them raised his hand. He asked how many of them will like to attend the university and all hands were raised. “That’s the problem” he said. The students believe the university is the ultimate of education, but Soul’e disappointed them by proving otherwise.

According to him, over concentration one institution of learning, the university, among hundreds that are available is the source of economic crises in the country. He said that not all the students should be in the university, judging by talents and passions which vary. He made his point clear by making reference to Abraham Lincoln, the formal president of USA, Charles Dickens, the writer of the famous Oliver Twist, Ronaldo, Messi and the likes, who became huge success without the university education.

This caused uproar as the teachers in the school, where the seminar took place got so uncomfortable with his teachings. They believed the students are been taught to forgo schooling and tried their best to stop him from poisoning their minds. But Soul’e Rhymez, who went ahead to also confirm that schooling is now a manipulation could not be stopped.
He left questions yet unanswered and other speakers surprisingly went in his direction.

Miss. Juliet Obi stressed on the importance of talents, urging the students to be bold enough to do what they feel is right for them; to follow their talents and make something out of them.
Mr. James Ifeanyi Oladipupo, the founder of IDRAW and formal principal of the school urged the students not just to go to school, but to create a career out of their talents. Both speakers hereby agreed with Soul’e Rhymez’s definition of true education, which is “learning to develop talents and liberate passions to make for relevance to oneself and the society”.

Mr. Christian Nonso steered up another controversy when he came up and made it known to clear to the students that schooling and even the uniform they are wearing is a conspiracy. According to him, schooling is an evolution and education is a revolution. He urged them to settle for the revolution instead of evolution, hereby agreeing with Mr. Emmanuel C.S Eze, the president and the convener of Dream Achievers World (DAW) in his speech where he asserted that schooling is deliverance, while education is freedom.

Soul’e who after his speech was called aside by one of the teachers in the school and scolded for seemingly trying to poison the minds of the students and stop them from coming to school made it clear that he is not against university education, but against overconcentration on it and seeing it as the only form of education without which they can’t be considered educated. According to him, university is one institution of learning which is good only for those whose talents and passions could be developed and liberated there respectively.

He urged the students to take their own destiny in their own hands by revealing how he got several opportunities to study abroad but declined them because the courses he was given did not align with his talents and passion.
Soul’e revealed that if everyone is given the type of education that helps develop their talents and liberates their passions, crime, which is most times due to joblessness, will reduce in the country as there will be many employers of labour.

Finally, he urged the students to settle for the type of education that helps nurture their talents and liberate their passions alone.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ICHARITY CLUB

Introduction

Life is a risk; those who refuse to take risks will never make anything significant out of life.
Security is a grand illusion, no one ever has it, but I always advocate for calculated risks.
One of the hallmarks of great entrepreneurs is risks taking. If you haven’t taken any risk that makes you doubt if your sense is still intact, even when it is, then you are not living yet, you only exist.
In these hard times, we all want to find a way out, but it seems no one is willing to take risks.

I have hard to wait till this moment to take this step, because of my name, I know people believe what I say and if I tell them anything that’s not true, my credibility will be at stake, that’s why I have to make my findings before involving anyone in any risk, I have to understand it is a calculated risk and one that is worth taken and that I have done with ICHARITY.

What makes iCharity special & unique?

1. The first person that uses your link to register pays you back and thereby making your investment zero investment with free 4 more slot to go.

2. You get down-lines in 3 ways

Direct referral:
When the people you source for register using your referral link.

Spillover:
when the person you are under (the up-liner you paid 6k ) 5 slot is full or has upgraded to level two, when people (New people that want to Register ) then still click on his link automatically the system redirect them to you as you are under him ,so you benefit as a down-liner.

Randomization:
The system just sends people that register on the site for the first time without a referral to pay 6k to you so you can approve them.
This can take a long time, as they expect you to promote your own link.

3. Your stress on how to get down-lines end in grade 1 as the system automatically gives you people to pay you from grade 2 upward.
I.e. the system share the 25 - grade 1 people to you in grade two, so they pay you 12k for you to approve them.

4. ICharity is a onetime investment.

This is how it works:
💰Grade 1 donation to upline is N6, 000
You will receive N6, 000x5 = N30, 000

💰Grade 2 donation to upline is N12, 000
You will receive N12, 000x25=N300, 000

💰Grade 3 donation to upline is N24, 000

💰Grade 4 donation to upline is N36, 000
You will receive N36, 000x625=N22, 500,000

💰Grade 5 donation to upline is N60, 000
You will receive 60000x3, 125 = N187, 500,000

TRUE EDUCATION CAMPAIGN (PROMOTION)

In “When Education becomes Indoctrination”, an essay published by The Guardian Newspaper in year 2015, and also published on several online platforms across the world, it was stated by the writer that “When education becomes indoctrination, only the truly educated ones become successful.”

It seems it is playing out here.

It is obvious; education in this part of the world has become indoctrination.
It seems we are satisfied with the bragging rights: certificates and fluency in the use of English Language.
It hasn’t occurred to us that these aren’t what it means to be educated and that is why we are so backward.

Our children are sent to schools, they study any available course just to be in school and graduate unbaked and virtually useless to themselves and the society.
That is what education that neglects talents and passions has to offer.

According to Soul’e Rhymez in one of his essays on education, the best form of education, which he termed “True Education”, is to be taught the rudiments and the right use of your talents in relation to your passion to make you relevant to yourself and the society.

With that definition of education, we will have a stable and empowered society, but is that what we have now?
Don’t you think our educational system is just a brainwash?
Don’t be surprised at the hardship we experience now, that’s the price we pay for wrong definition and propagation of education.
We produce virtually nothing, even the little we produce is not valued and we are not trained to produce.
We are trained to import from abroad and when exchange rate goes high, inflation sets in as we have it now.

Where are the educated folks?
What solution do they have to this? Probably none, but empty eloquence.
This is not about fluency in English Language and certification alone, it is about productivity and they are probably not trained to do the later.

Have you noticed that our educational system seems to have been designed to produce only employees?
Why do you think we have so many unemployed graduates?
It is simple; they are trained to work for people, not to be employers of labour.
They were not trained to use their talent in relation to their passions; they are trained to speak good English and boast of certificates.

We have a lot of schooled folks that have no idea what education is and this is why we are suffering.
Education is not limited to the walls of any school, but it is worse here as university is the ultimate when it comes to education.
Whereas, it is just one institution of learning out of thousands of institutions of learning through which we can be educated and be relevant to ourselves and our society.

Until we seek “True Education”, we will always be behind.
